  IMHO, it depemds upon question type, if covered in faq.txt, or docs, or by searching forum messages, it may not be answered.

  Yes, we all understand, as in software support it is not very to always make the same answers to the same questions...but ... in these cases can't you have a 'standard' reply like :
  The answer is in the doc and/or in the doc and/or in the forum
  
  Because today the users don't know if :
  the answer is in the FAQ.
  the support have not seen the question.
  the support don't understand the question.
