Matrix: Keeping (sub)totals row with data

are there any chances that this will be improved in the future?

It would also be cool when a non-repeated matrix-column could have a fit-width property which would make the entire matrix as wide as possible.

I'm afraid there is no chance, for these both improvements. The existing matrix design does not allow this.
