[Barcode] Variable width by design?

Hello

I notice that, by default, the width of a Barcode object varies depending on its contents:

I have no experience with barcodes yet, so this might be a baseless fear, but I'm concerned that entry-level scanners might have a difficult time reading smaller barcodes. Could this be a problem? If yes, how can I tell FR to maintain a big enough width?

Thank you.

you can alter the widebarratio property.
most barcode types limit the number of characters they can handle.
your best approach is to print some samples and test the reader.
