Long-lasting reports

Hi everybody,
Do you have any experience with long-lasting reports in FR3?
I write SQL query in FR3 report maker, and some of my reports need a long long time to be built. (for example 2 minutes or more)
Is any way how to make it user-friendly?

I mean SQL cursor is not enough. Gauge would be great, or .....

Any idea ?
