Converting from Crystal Reports v7
Have not purchased Fast Reports yet.
I need to know if it will convert Crystal Reportsv7 files and if the output is version control friendly.

CR to FR converter needs Crystal Reports from VS 2005 installed
It looks impossible to obtain and install "Crystal Reports from VS 2005". So I have failed in connecting to Fast Reports. Looks like Fast Reports is not an option for my company.
Robert,
We used to use Crystal and wanted a conversion routine as well. We had no luck in finding anything that suited our needs. In the end, we rewrote all of our Crystal Reports in Fast Reports and dropped Crystal altogether. It was a pain, but worth the time to change over.
