Cannot use the same dataset...

after registering and then upgrading to latest version today.reports wont work.
get error: Cannot use the same dataset for page.dataset and band.Dataset
i've read the other posts, no sense there.
if i set one or the other to null the report still wont preview.
Why cant the 2 have the same dataset ??? if FS wants me to use a different dataset which do i choose, 'rare minerals of mars?'
It is a simple list report, it is not a master-detail report.
what exactly do i do to fix this. I have BCB6 and FastReports 3.x Latest version.
thank you. (i may not be able to respond till monday)

Just select the Page and set its DataSet property to nil (empty).

    Stop Press.
Issue resolved by dumping the form (which was created in an earlier version).
Starting a brand new form and re-creating the report from fresh.

done. Page.DataSet now reads (Not assigned).
But the (preview) error msg just switches to
"Cannot use the same dataset for Report.Dataset and Band.DataSet"
If i clear that property too, i just get a blank report.

You should clear the Report.DataSet property too. If you use band.dataset, you should leave report.dataset and page.dataset properties empty.

    I'm encountering the same problem
"cannot use same dataset in report.dataset and band.dataset

And in the page object the dataset is "(Not assigned)".

It's the same in two simple, one-query result reports.

    Thanks,

Excuse my preceding post. I failed to scroll down to the second round response. When I set the report.dataset to empty, it work.

    Thanks,
