vb.net appearance

When showing a report using vb.net after closing the report the apearance of buttons and comboboxes changes to a look like Win95. I'm using Win7pro and Visual Studio Enterprise 2015. the fastreport dll version is 2016.2.120.
Does anyone know what the reason for that strange behavior might be?

    take a look at application.designer.vb in 'my project' folder
    Public Sub New()
                MyBase.New(Global.Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.AuthenticationMode.Windows)
                Me.IsSingleInstance = true
                Me.EnableVisualStyles = true     => CHECK IT
                Me.SaveMySettingsOnExit = false
                Me.ShutDownStyle = Global.Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.ShutdownMode.AfterMainFormCloses
            End Sub

    Thanks for the suggestion. I have Sub Main and there is VisualStyles enabled. But thru your hint I found a solution. Setting Flatstyle for each Control to System instead Standard brings the expected behavior.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
