I want to write a expression in a variable that if ds.a(ds is frxdataset,a is field) is null then assign ds.b to it ,if it is not null then assign ds.c to it ,how should i to do ?

Try [IIF(<ds."a"> = null, <ds."b">, <ds."c">)]
TfrxReport.EngineOptions.ConvertNulls should be False
