xls export - how to stop numbers being exported as text?
I have a relatively simple report with a column of currency values.
These are read from a database as floating point numbers (eg 67.99) but the TfrxMemo in which they are displayed is formatted as number (the format string is '%2.2m') so that in preview the value displays as, for example, ??67.99
However, when I use the xls export to export the report to Excel the '??' sign gets exported as well.
The result is that Excel thinks that column is text and will not allow any calculations to be done on it.
How can I make the xls export export just the actual numeric value?
(or better still, export the numeric value but tell Excel to format it as currency so that the '??' sign is displayed but the number is still treated as something upon which calculations can be performed)
I'm using FR ver 4.9 and Excel 2003
