FR3 Demo

When I run the FR3 demo program, I have only access to the design part. The program gives an error saying that it can't find BDE.
In my case, I have
D:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\Borland shared\BDE
D:\Program Files\Borland\CBuilder6

I have tried unsuccessfully to install the demo at different places. Is it an address in the Registry instructing the demo program where to find the BDE?

Thanks in advance.

You should have BDE and "DBDEMOS" alias in order to run FR3 demo. Semms you haven't.

    But the Frdemo2.53 works normally!

FR2.53 demo from our site does not use BDE!

    Alexander,

I can confirm that my BDE Administrator shows the DBDEMOS alias with the path D:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\Borland Shared\Data.

And the Paradox DB files are present in this directory.

So the question remains: How to install FR3Demo sothat it finds the data files?

I don't know, there is something wrong on your PC. In this case download the FR3 trial, install it and compile the demo from demos\main folder.

    Alexander,

The Cross-Table demo (which has a BCB project file) uses a TTable linked to customers.db. This demo works well and produced the 4 pages of the report covering the full table.

I had, however, uninstalled both FR304 and the Demo3, to reinstall them at your default directory proposed by your installation programs (except that my partition is D: instead of C:. Borland is also in the same partition).

This reinstallation brings no change in beheaviour: Demo3 can't find BDE, while Cross-Table can!

I am reluctant to play with the FR3 trial, since I have already started to use FR3.

    Regards

    Alexander,

It was very simple: I found the source code and recompile it in BCB6.
    It works fine.
