Can't change colour of 2D barcode background

I am trying to print reports with a Datamatrix 2D barcode on a coloured background.
The Color property of the TfrxBarcode2DView seems to change the area surrounding the barcode cells, but not the cells themselves, and it does not appear to be saved in the FR3 file either, as any colour changes made in the demo application's Designer vanish when you Preview the page. The QR Code in the demo application behaves the same way.
I see that there is a topic from last year saying that the background colour of some 1D barcodes can no longer be changed.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
