Sending a report through email

Hello,
I've been trying to send a report through mail here are what I noticed:
1.Blocking this all application from being used and the small windows indicating that the email is being send is hiding other application area whrere its located on the screen
2. I have a Gmail account I put all needed settings : activate ssl port 465 my password and user name but I am getting an error saying that time is out so it not sending the report.
Help me to solve the problem
