FC 2: data without using TDataSource?

In the old FastCube 1 version, I had asked here,

Now that we have FastCube 2, did that feature make it into the new version? Is it now possible to feed data to FC via a handler or other custom routine rather than going through TDataSource and other database components?

In the old FastCube 1 version, I had asked here,
Is it required that the data to be displayed must be delivered by a TDataSource? Can the data just be supplied by a routine I provide, such as an event handler or other routine?
You replied,
FastCube 1 can load data only from a TDataSet descendant. This will change in FastCube 2 but not earlier.
