We don't plan it yet. What kind of version are you interested - CLX, Lazarus?
BTW, FR works well under linux + wine...

I am reviving this question since over the last year Lazarus has made tremendous progress and is becoming more and more mature. And some clients have indicated that there is some interest in Linux as a desktop (along with Mac). Over the next months we will start an R&D project to port our apps to Linux.

Will fastreport be part of this ?

    Thanks

FastScript and FastCube work now under Lasarus.
We start port FastQueryBuilder to Lasarus. And next - all FastReport.

I know this is an old thread but I was hoping someone could assist me with a problem I am having.

I am trying to run my application on Linux under WINE. However, whenever I print a report I begin to have errors. Sometimes it works but most of the time I am running into access violations, invalid pointer opreratons and occassionally some error that points to a problem with FullScreenBtn.caption (not one of the buttons I have used)

I am trying to find if there is some common thread to these errors but so far no luck. At times I can cancel past the error and the report prints. Other times the report just displays again (no print) other times the app shuts down and most of the time I have to restart the computer to get out of the error loop. Most of the time I can get the report to display but not always.

I noted the comment that FR works well under wine so I thought that maybe it is something to do with the wine settings rather than FR or the application.

    Any suggestions?

It looks like tfrxrichview my be causing a problem as the logs indicate a problem with richedits. I am looking into that now but if anyone has some suggestions please let me know.

Edit: Just tested it on a different linux install and the report printed without error but the richedits did not display any text. I will have to check the WINE versions of the two installs to see if that is one of the issues. Will then need to check if there is something that will solve the richedit problem. If not, I'll have to remove all the richedits from the reports and replace with plain memos.

When I looked into winetricks I saw these:
    riched20 MS riched20 and riched32
    riched30 MS riched30
richtx32 MS Rich TextBox Control 6.0

and was not sure which to try or all 3

When I get the chance I'll go with riched20

In the meanwhile I have removed any richedits from my reports and the program and reports are working fine under Linux and wine.

    Thanks for the help

    Edit:
Just went to add riched20 and found that Wine 1.2 was available. After the update the program works fine. The richedits in the reports no longer cause a problem. Now I just need to get the district techs to update the school's network to the latest version.
