Sub Report Page Properties Ignored?

I have a subreport page I've inserted into a main report.

I'd like to put a frame around this subreport but the logical way, setting the ReportPage Frame property, does have any effect. Other page properties, like background, doesn't seem to work either.

Is this not possible?

    Subreport is displayed on main page. Subreport page properties are ignored.
