Question about FR 3.0 feautures

edited November 2003 in FastReport 3.0
Will FR 3.0 have so much code in 'initialization' section of units?
Will there be some kind of WWW pr TCP/IP report server?
How about Kylix portability? Im interested in creating linux report server running as deamon on X-less machine, it would be nice if it will not depend on any QT code.

    1) no, FR3.0 have much less initialization code and almost no global objects.
    2) not in the near future.
    3) forget about FR if you want QT-less code.

    ;) ;)
Not every end user familiar with low-level SQL statement to change grouping in report
End-user only familiar with user interface.
would ver 3.0 support internal sort and group report automaticlly ?

    Thanks

If you want the user to have internal sort and grouping, why don't you use the form and scripting possibilities inside FR2.X. I've made a lot of reports with these possibilities, just dropping some listboxes etc. on a FR internal form. Then they choose the fields they want to sort by, and press a Print button. The SQL used by the report is parsed when pushing the Print button by using the scripting possibilities inside FR.

If you have any questions about this, make a post inside the Fast Report VCL section.
