TfrxPictureView property transparent missing?

I have had to copy all my files from a win 7 machine to a new win 10 one. I re-installed Delphi and then successfully installed fast reports 4 from a copy of fr4d12.exe that I had on my old machine (which I think is what I used to install it there orginally. I then copied over some delphi projects that contain some FR reports.

Using the new win 10 machine, when loading a Delphi project containing a fast report 4 that has a TfrxPictureView object in it I get the error "property Picture1.transpant missing" when it tries to load the form.

Indeed when I open the report in design and look at the properties of the picture that I put on the report there is no transparent property.

However when I look at the same form, with the same report and picture on my old win 7 machine there is a transparent property.

What could cause the property to be missing on the new machine.

  • Ah, found the problem.

I had a later installer on my old machine for FR ver 4.9.

One of the changes from 4.5 was the ability to set a transparency property in TfrxPictureView .

Uninstalled FR and reinstalled it from the newer installation file and all is well. - That took some digging!

That's the trouble with having a good product like FR that normally just works. You forget where it came from!
