drag whole dataset(create band) does not work?

Hi, I've upgraded to FastReport5 recently from FastReport4. In one of the change logs it says:
+ Added multi-selection for data tree and ability to drag whole dataset(create band) - allow to drag any count of fields from "data tree" or/and include whole dataset.

I tried to drag the dataset from the data tree (where the datasets are shown along with their fields) over a page or over a band, but nothing hapenned. Is this a bug? What is this suposed to do?

Select all fields in the tree with Ctrl key and drop it on the TfrxReportPage

If you want to create a band - select dataset and required fields

Ok, this works as you stated. Still, as a suggestion for improve, would be good if you drag just the dataset, that it behaves as we would expect, that is, all fields would be deployed. The way it is now, it looks a bug, cause it allows to drag a dataset, but nothing happens.

Anyway, any improves like the feature commented in this post, on the subject of placing the fields on the bands are very wellcome, because placing them (position and width) manually one by one along with the labels is just very boring... most of time grids on reports are the same format, simple columns and rows with header, and the manual work to put them in place is just anoying. Unfortunatelly if "Create caption" is selected and we drag dataset and some fields, the created captions are spread at wrong positions and at loose at the page... improves on such are also very wellcome. Even better would be a more automatic grid where we dont need to bother with such detailed grained pixel for building a grid (it is good for some cases tough, it is a nice feature, dont get me wrong), like the crosstab where you just assign the dataset, columns and almost everything is handled automatically, with options to customize some things. For us which use grids on the reports all the time would be a killer feature, worth buying (we'd like to avoind having to create our own component extending FR for that).

Anyway, thanks for now, doubt solved.

Did you try to use wizard?

Hi, I supose you are refering to the wizards in the "File->New". Well, they don't help much actually. Just one, of several, example: there is no way to have a preview of live data from there (I had to change the SQLEdit form to include a buttom to show a live data there... but I wont touch the wizzards)... also, query wizzard just creates a query... sincerelly, I don't need a wizard for that. We need something that automates the tedious work of putting the fields and headers of every single table grid we build in the reports. Fast Reports already have this kind of approach... see the crosstab. Well, more or less, since you need to specifify the columns, but that is OK for a crosstab. TfrxGrid or something like this... I believe it is a basic component that is totally missing in the fast reports for ages. We upgraded to FR5 hoping there was something in that line... but not yet
