subreport basics: field linking

Hi,

I'm trying to understand the subreport demo ("10.fr3").

The visual stuff is quite clear, what I don't get:

How (on earth) are the reports <=> subreport1 <=> subreport2 linked together?

I've tried to do a similar report with three queries on three tables, and I always get the full table in each subreport because I don't know where and how to define a link condition.

Any hint is very appreciated.... I'm stuck in basic things I know! ;)

Cheers,

Daniel

    It reads "User Manual".
In it you it will find information on the construction of reports.

Hey, I even read the manual!
But with nested reports, I didn't find out how to link datasets!

Same mechanism as with master-detail datasets???

    Thanks

    So let me guess...

    For nested reports (subreports)
    * I have to link datasets with MASTERFIELDS and DETAILFIELDS properties
    * I have to do this outside from Fastreport

? Is there a way to influence this field linking in the fast-report designer ?

    Thanks!

You have to link the datasets outside from FR. "Subreport" demo uses linked datasets.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
