Platform independent PDF's

edited January 2012 in FastReport 4.0
Hi!

Is PDF's generated with Fastreport platform independent ?
I ask because I have tried to generate PDF's in Windows XP. It works fine as expected.
If the generated PDF is shown on a new Mac then images is gone.
If I show the PDF on a Android smartphone the image and most of the text is gone.

PDF is supposed to be independent of platform. This is the whole idea with the format.
And I thought that FastReport was a mature product.

Does it exists a demo that can be compiled and generate a platform independent PDF ?

EDIT:
I can also add that PDF's generated with Delphi Ravereports works fine on Mac and Android.
I tried to download Adobe Reader for Mac and that show the images fine.
But this doesn't matter. We cannot require that our customers with Mac should install Adobe reader.
Of course they expect any PDF will work with the default viewer on Mac called Preview.

Regards

Thanks for the solution. My team solved this issue by using Synopse PDF Engine to generate the PDF files, see http://synopse.info/fossil/wiki?name=PDF+Engine.
But changing one line in fastreports source is of course much simpler >

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
