Add new translation - FR4.9.106
My application works in a number of languages. To localise the reports, I ran mkall.bat in the relevant \res language folders and copied the resulting .frc files to my application folder. Using frxResources.LoadFromFile works fine for the languages that are distributed with FastReport but, I needed to make a language file for Irish. To do this, I copied the English folder and renamed it to Irish. After translating some of the strings and running mkall.bat, I had a partially translated Irish.frc file.
However, when I load this file and preview a report, any accented characters are shown incorrectly. For example, the title of the preview screen should be "R?©amhamharc" but it is displayed with the symbol for a non-printing character in place of the accented character - something like "Râ–’amhamharc" (not quite â–’ but the rectangle outline that indicates an unknown/unprintable character)
The Spanish and French frc files work fine and display the accented characters as expected so I must be missing a step. Is there something else that needs to be done to add a new language?
I am using the evaluation version of FR4. Up to now, I have been using FR2.5 and I haven't encountered this problem. But, I am planning to upgrade to FR4 and I hope somebody can shed some light on this.
Thanks,
Mike O'Grady

I used codepage 1252 as this is what is used in the English, French and Spanish xmls and Irish only has accented vowels similar to Spanish.
I'm not sure whether I should have been using a specific editor for the XML files (I used Notepad) but I managed to get it working by cutting and pasting all of the text in the file into a copy of the Spanish XML file.
It is almost as though there are some hidden settings in the Spanish file that were missing in the English file that I used for editing. Either that, or there is something pretty basic that I am unaware of.
