You can use Text export filter to do this. There is no native dotmatrix mode in FR.Net.

I have tried text export, but some of the report object is not exported correctly. For Example:

I have 2 object: one is label, one is date field (Date: [Current Date]. They are supposed to be printed at the same line. But when I export to text/dot matrix mode, they are not printed on the same line.

I have search other reporting solutions for .net other than fastreport and do some comparisons. I think fast report is better in most of the cases, especially the run time designer, matrix report object, easy integration with custom .net objects. But there are little cases that prevent fastreport from becoming the most ideal reporting solutions. One of them is unlimited page width and length (Active report can handle this situation).

So, is it possible to add this two functionalities in next fastreport.net build. Because I think I will choose fastreport amongs other reporting solutions, but I need these two functionalities badly.

    Thanks.

Text export cannot handle all situations because of different nature of report document and text file. You can try to play with ScaleX/ScaleY settings in the export dialog, it may help.

To do so in FastReport, open page settings dialog and set paper width/height to big values (for ex. 100x100m). When printing such report, you may use one of the printing modes that allow to split big page per standard A4 sheets.

    Hello,

You can print on dot-matrix printer using two modes:
    1) regular mode (slow). Just press the "Print" button in the preview.
    2) text mode (fast, but not wysiwyg, you have no control over bold, italic etc). Press the "Export" button in the preview window and select "Text file".

No, there is no "one-button-click" method of doing this.

FastReport uses standard GDI+ text drawing, so I can't fix anything in this case. The only thing you can do is to change some printer driver settings (resolution, for example).

I have a problem while printing an exported report (Text for dot matrix) by calling FastReport.Export.Text.TextExportPrint.PrintStream in Epson Lx300+.

The report is always printed in 2 pages for each page, in other words, always skip one empty page after printing one page.

I attach the prepared report and the scanned printout.

I tried to print the exported text manually, but I cannot access the report papersize, because it is marked as private property.

Can you open them as public properties, so I can access them if I want to print the text file manually.

By the way, If I use Y Scale more than 1, the report is printed incorrectly.

Line object is always not exported correctly, no matter which Y Scale is chosen (incorrect position).

    Thanks.

    Hello,

The Text export is not accurate nor wysisyg now. We plan to rewrite it in the next major version of FastReport (I can't say now when it will be available).

Is this feature available in current version?

I'm looking for reporting tool with support for this. Most of my other reporting requirement are met by fast report, but one part is fast printing support for dot matrix printing with bit of formatting.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
