HI All - I have a Version 5 FastReport Server running , all functioning as expected however from Delphi (2009) code I'm having trouble extracting the variable list

On my Data Module I have a Report Client and a ServerConnection

1. I load the desired report - (data = Warehouse\BMS-StorageSummary.fr3);
2. I have a StringList "lvVarList"
3. Prepare the Report
4. Get the Variables,

Now if I load the report into a local frxReport and do the same the var's are available so I'm thinking its something to with the path ? the Application will not always be connected to a network , so would be nice to get the var from any type of connection to the server - any help appreciated

DataForm.frxReportClient.PrepareReport;

HI - I recently down loaded the Report Server Demo as well and I assumed I was doing something incorrectly until I found this post, I can only assume that its the same problem - client hangs after you run a demo report ?

I would like to try this product before I move onto some other tool as I already use FastReports in my Delphi 2009 App and need to migrate to server based Reporting, Is there a way around this , and what is everyone's experience with this Server tool in particular the scheduling ?

Demo version installed (IASPI - IIS)

Hello,

I installed the demo version of FastReport Server on an IIS server (ISAPI). I've done all like written in the documentation.

The following link works fine:
http://localhost/cgi-bin/fastreport.dll

When starting the basic report - http://localhost/cgi-bin/result?report=1.Basic reports1.Simple list.fr3 - I get the HTTP Error 404.
When changing the 'result' with fastreport.dll it works. What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes no result

I send an Request to the server in that form:

http://ip.ip.ip.ip:port/result?report=report.fr3&format=PDF&psession=411&precord=140

Sometimes i get the result PDF visible after 2 seconds. Very nice!
(in access.log i see an entry for the request and one for the result)

But sometimes it loads endless. If i than close the browser-tab. The second time it loads endless.
The third trial than gives me the result as aspected.
(in acceess.log i can only see the request - no entry for the result)

There is no error.log entry. The config.xml uses the default values.
I have 2GB free memory and the processer has no utilization.
OS is Win2008 SP2 64bit - Fastreport Server Version 2.3.0

For testing i have deactivated the firewall and virus protection.
Same reult!

What can couse this behaviour?

Scheduling Reports

I installed FR Server Demo and setup one standard and one custom report in the scheduler. They seem to execute, but neither of them produces the report output that I specified. I also setup the email options, and it is not sending email either.
I like the reports, and the fact you can dynamically generate them via a web page, but the product will have limited use if I can't schedule or email the reports.

I've tried pdf, html and txt file format, but nothing seems to work. The version in help/about is 2.10.

I'd appreciate any advice.

We didn't ask again and nothing happened.

Meanwhile several subreleases of FRServer have been released without the
promised bugfix in the FRDemoClient.

I think it's annoying and inacceptable that the Fastreport team is not willing or
unable to fix a bug in the actual Version of their software product within one year,
referring to the next release Fastreport 5 that may come next year or not.

Get parameters through report URL

I'm trying to find a way to get parameters into my report as report variables, but I can't seem to make this work. I know they have some examples in the documentation, but I've tried following what they say and it fails.

Can anyone either give me some information on how to make this work through scripting with Jscript, or point me to a place with information?

EDIT: Ok, I'm getting the value from the parameter, but now I get an error: Error in expression ''param value'': '}' expected. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks.

Keep PDF Copy of report in Server

I understand that FastReport able to keep a copy of PDF report into the httpdocs folder base on session id.
But I have many reports need to be separated, How can I set a specific report to be keep into a specific folder without the session id folder ?

i have no problem installing it locally in the browser I can test all the samples.
I'm trying to test these examples on the web, but can not get work.
I copied the folders to the web server, I access the main page www.mypage.com / index.html without problems, but when I click on a link, I receive this error message:

not Found The requested URL / htdocs / result not was found on this server. Apache/2.2.22 (PowerStack) Server at Port 80 www.mypage.com Can anyone help me ...

Hi,

We already use FR VCL & FS VCL and we are now also interested in Fast Report Server.
Unfortunately, I cannot find any information regarding how to set up authentication for CGIAuth, RemoteAuth, or CookieAuth.
I have an in-house built website running with integrated user authentication (from an Oracle database) and want our web users to run reports we have created without any "re-login".
Is this possible? How can I set that up? Fast Report server manual does not unfortunately explain anything on these possibilities... ;(

Today I place order to local supplier and install the demo.
When setup user security, I asked how could I setup report access as domain user authority. But open winauth it is no use. All of users can access one of price report.

Hello.
I've got a procedure in Oracle SQL Developer that fill a table with the data i'll need to use in my report.
This procedure receives three parameters:
date1 and date2 that the user will set in a dialog page and will be stored in report's variables.
rc out sys_refcursor, that is an out parameter.

I want to know if is possible to call this stored procedure in the DialogPage1OnDeactivate event.
The way to call this procedure from oracle sql developer is:

Exporting from html report to Excel (.xml) to one sheet

I'm accessing a report on a Fastreport Server via html page. In the report is checked "Endless page height". In html page is only one page, it's ok. But when exporting to .xml to open it in MS Excel, the report is splitted into several sheets. On the html page it's only in one screen, but in Excel it's in several sheets.
It's quite problem, when you have to copy all data into one sheet to work with it.

Does anyone have a suggestion, how can be all data in one sheet, regardless on the numbers of lines?

I was wondering if anybody know how to remove server and replace it with regular router. I tried to pull out old server, and replace it with router, but the internet is suddenly dead. I checked the server, and apparently it was set into a static IP. How can I remove the server without taking down the internet? How can I make the router generate its own IP address? The sequence should be Internet>modem>server>router>switch>clie??¦ Thank you.

Folder Structure in Browser

I'm using Fast Report Server 2.3.0. I created a new report folder in the configurator and added a report with a unique name to it. In the report list in the browser, I see the report listed along with others in the root list, but no folders. This is true in both Firefox 3.6 and IE 8. Are the folders supposed to show up in the report list in the browser?

public access in new folder

Hi all,

in the configurator of FastReport Server 2.1 a new folder can be created in control, reports.

When I do this a new window opens where I find a checkbox "Public access" but this checkbox disabled (and checked), so I cannot uncheck it.
I just want to assign report folders to special groups.

How can I realize this ?
